UAE. Beauty Contact is set to roll out Cadillac Fragrances, its first license signed with General Motors USA to design, develop, produce and distribute fragrances worldwide under the Cadillac name.
Founded in 2002 by Alwyn Stephen, Beauty Contact is a Dubai-based company that provides a range of management consultancy services and is dedicated to devising and implementing client-based solutions. The company is the global licensee and worldwide distributor for Cadillac Fragrances.
Cadillac, better known as a brand of luxury vehicles owned by General Motors, is now making its foray into fragrances. Its first line – a men’s fragrance – was showcased at the TFWA World Exhibition, the TFWA Asia Pacific Exhibition and the IAADFS Duty Free Show of the Americas in 2007 and 2008. It was also on show at Middle East Exclusive 2007.
The fragrance design was inspired by the bold and pioneering Cadillac imagery, according to Paris-based designer Pierre Eisenecker. A trained designer who has worked in the perfume industry for over ten years, Eisenecker has worked with brands such as Lolita Lempicka and Dior. Pierre specialises in modern lavish design with a special focus on luxury.
The packaging for the Cadillac men’s fragrance was developed to encapsulate the qualities of Cadillac, symbolising “the opulence and extravagance of past eras, as well as the luxury and refinement of today”.
The primary colour of the packaging, black, is highlighted by the wreath and crest symbols. The black and white box opens to reveal a translucent glass bottle topped off with a sleek metal cap.
The juice, developed by Paris-trained Constance Georges-Picot, contains top notes of grapefruit and camomile, followed by a mix of geranium, tarragon and cinnamon in the heart. It then dries to reveal bottom notes of ebony, sweet spice, vetiver and incense. Georges-Picot, now based in Florida, currently works for Cosmo International Fragrances and has been in the business for over ten years.
The Cadillac fragrance line includes the following: 100ml Edt Spray, 50ml Edt Spray, 100ml After Shave, 100ml Edp Lux, 50ml Edp Lux, 100 ml Edt BLACK Limited Edition, 30ml Travel Edition (TBC), 75 ml Deo-stick, 100 ml Hair & Body Wash and Gift Sets.
The line is set to rollout worldwide in May 2009, shipping will start from end April 2009 out of New Jersey, according to Beauty Contact.
