Belfast International Airport urges passengers to ‘Park & Pledge a Pound’

IRELAND. Belfast International Airport has launched a car parking donation drive to raise funds for Action Mental Health, a Northern Ireland charity which helps people overcome mental ill-health.

The ‘Park & Pledge a Pound’ initiative offers passengers the option to donate £1 when they pay for their airport car parking to support the charity’s work, which includes assisting people to remain in employment as well as providing skills and sourcing opportunities for those who want to re-enter the workforce.

Action Mental Health Chief Executive David Babington said: “We are very pleased that Belfast International Airport has chosen to focus on and support mental health and wellbeing and we are delighted to benefit from the airport’s parking donation system.

“We will be working alongside Belfast International Airport to organise and support a number of fundraising activities and events. We also hope to run a number of joint initiatives to raise awareness, tackle stigma and promote positive mental health,” he added.
