The travel retail-exclusive single malts line underscores Benriach’s commitment to the channel

Brown-Forman-owned Benriach Distillery is launching four exclusive expressions for global travel retail.

The range of Speyside whiskies includes Benriach Quarter Cask, Benriach Smoky Quarter Cask, Benriach Triple Distilled Ten and the distiller’s oldest ever triple- distilled expression, Benriach 22 Year Old Triple Distilled.

The range is now available in UK airports, followed by a worldwide launch from 1 May.

The distillery’s tradition of triple distilling small batches, a practice done only once a year, produces smooth spirits with notes of orchard fruits and citrus zest.

The three-cask maturation process used for the 10 Year Old and 22 Year Old expressions intensifies this blending of fruit and oak flavors.

The Triple Distilled Ten has a honeyed sweetness that complements the toasted oak notes. The 22 Year Old Triple Distilled expression is elegant, richly swirled in caramel mocha and morello cherry, overlaid with stone fruits and nutty oak.

The use of smaller bespoke casks in the second maturation for both the Benriach Quarter Cask and Benriach Smoky Quarter Cask brings to life the complex fruit-forward flavours characteristic of the distillery.

In the Quarter Cask, layers of glazed orchard fruit and creamy vanilla are interwoven with the earthiness of barley and oak with a touch of spice. The Smoky Quarter Cask adds the deep richness of ripe fruit and mellow smoke to the mix.

This launch comes in anticipation of the continued easing of pandemic-related travel restrictions globally.

Benriach’s Master Blender Rachel Barrie said: “As international travel will hopefully continue to open this year, whisky lovers will have the opportunity to sample this distinctive range of expressions available exclusively for global travel retail.

“Our oldest triple-distilled expression, Benriach 22 Year Old Triple Distilled, is a complex fruit and oak masterpiece, with rich layers of caramel mocha and morello cherry, overlaid with mellow nutty elegance and the exquisite richness of orange peel, red apple and date. Benriach Triple Distilled Ten is layered in glazed fruit, creamy vanilla and honey sweetness alongside vibrant toasted oak spice.

“The bespoke quarter casks used in both Benriach Quarter Cask and Benriach Smoky Quarter Cask gives each a very distinctive flavour profile. In Quarter Cask it creates layers of glazed orchard fruit and rich vanilla, finishing with notes of ripe barley and oak spice. Smoky Quarter Cask adds layers of ripe fruit, fresh wood smoke and spiced vanilla, with finishing notes of mellow smoke and nutty oak.”
