Biotherm has unveiled a new range, called Pure Fect Skin, which aims to combat the typical complexion irritations caused by 21st century living. The line contains a daily cleanser, purifying toner and hydrating gel.
Breakouts and other skin imperfections are no longer the exclusive preserve of teenagers, according to the brand. Biotherm maintains that 70% of European women suffer such problems up to the age of 29, and 60% up to the age of 40. Lifestyle factors such as stress and diet, combined with environmental conditions such as heat, humidity and air pollution, are the main culprits.

Biotherm’s new Pure Fect trio targets early and late-onset skin irregularities via a triple-action formula |
Pure Fect Skin is described as Biotherm’s first global anti-imperfection solution which targets and reduces early and late-onset skin irregularities, via a triple-action formula that targets shine, visible pores and other imperfections. It is said to leave skin looking clean, pure and beautifully hydrated.
The key ingredient is a Laminaria digitata extract. Laminaria digitata is a brown macro algae which thrives on the coasts of the English Channel and the North Atlantic. To defend itself against UV rays and continual bacterial attack, it secretes a powerful anti-bacterial substance, which Biotherm has managed to harness.
Other key ingredients in Pure Fect include zinc, which targets excess sebum production, and perlite, extracted from volcanic rock, which helps absorb humidity and oil on the skin’s surface for a mattifying effect.
