BPI and Issey Miyake embark on fragrant Expedition

As previously reported, Beauté Prestige International (BPI) has created a limited-edition trio of scents from designer Issey Miyake called Issey Miyake Expedition. As the name suggests, the fragrances are linked by a travel/exploration theme. L’Eau d’Issey pour Homme (Oceanic Expedition), L’Eau d’Issey pour Homme Sport (Polar Expedition) and Nuit d’Issey (Austral Expedition) were unveiled last month and are rolling out now in the travel retail channel.

BPI is refreshing its Issey Miyake pillars with new limited-edition Expedition versions

To promote the new launches, BPI has created three 360° immersive videos, in partnership with xplorenewhorizons.com, which allow consumers to learn more about the three universes represented by the scents, and the corresponding sensations and emotions.

L’Eau d’Issey pour Homme (Oceanic Expedition), composed by Firmenich’s Alberto Morillas, aims to encapsulate the freshness of water and the ocean wind. The key ingredients include grapefruit, petitgrain, bergamot, neroli, ginger and musk.

Firmenich’s Christophe Raynaud nosed L’Eau d’Issey pour Homme Sport (Polar Expedition). The backbone of the fragrance is Alaskan cedar and Nootkatone – the aromatic molecule it contains. This is complemented by lime, cypress and grapefruit.

Lastly Nuit d’Issey (Austral Expedition) aims to evoke the freshness of a southern night, according to BPI. Composed by IFF’s Loc Donc, the juice aims to evoke icy freshness, created by a blend of lime, coriander, ambery woods and vetiver.
