Brisbane Airport to open McDonald’s restaurant at revamped domestic terminal

High-frying McDonald’s touches down at Brisbane Airport’s Domestic Terminal

AUSTRALIA. Global fast food chain McDonald’s is set to make its debut at Brisbane Airport’s domestic terminal this summer.

It is among ten F&B outlets to be launched in the coming months as part of the airport’s terminal revamp.

Brisbane Airport is described as the most connected domestic terminal in Australia, recording 16 million passengers in 2022.

Located at the Food Court opposite Gate 41, the new McDonald’s will serve its signature food offerings that are made with locally sourced produce.

A McCafé will be included in the store, offering customers an additional selection of convenient options.

Brisbane Airport Executive General Manager of Commercial Martin Ryan said: “If there is one thing BNE travellers have been asking for it’s a Maccas. It has consistently remained the most requested retailer and we couldn’t be more delighted to deliver.

“The terminal redevelopment is part of the A$5 billion Brisbane Airport is investing in Future BNE. This stage of the project will deliver new and revamped food and beverage experiences, upgraded amenities and fresh gate lounge seating areas for passengers while they wait for their flights.”

The McDonald’s will also feature easy-to-use kiosks to allow a faster and more convenient ordering process.

The opening will bring in A$7 million to the local economy and generate over 100 jobs, Brisbane Airport noted.

McDonald’s Australia Regional Director – North Region Alex Carapetis said: “We are excited to open our doors on McDonald’s Brisbane Airport Domestic and provide a space for travellers to enjoy a meal or coffee while they move through the airport.

“Every McDonald’s restaurant is committed to supporting the local community through providing jobs, training and development opportunities. We’re currently hiring a variety of crew, barista, management and maintenance roles in restaurants right across Brisbane.

“We are passionate about supporting the professional development of our people and providing workplace skills applicable to any career, so apply today to join the crew.” ✈

The world’s only event dedicated solely to the airport food & beverage and hospitality sectors will make a welcome return to the US next June. Please contact The Moodie Davitt Report Head of Events Jeannie Wong at Jeannie@MoodieDavittReport.com for details.
