Bristol Airport launches food ordering app for lounges and bars

UK. Bristol Airport has launched a free app allowing passengers in its lounges and bars to order food and drinks from their smartphones.

The airport said using the QikServe smartphone app will mean passengers don’t have to queue at the bars, which are run by food & beverage operator SSP, or worry about leaving valuables. They can order food and drinks all from the comfort of their seat.

The app is designed to deliver a ‘seamless and stress-free’ dining experience

Bristol Airport Retail Manager Tom Hack said: “Introducing Qikserve to the busiest food & beverage location, Bar Zero 9 at Bristol Airport, allows the team to deliver a seamless and stress-free start to the customers’ journey. This innovative app, which can be downloaded for free using the airport WiFi service, means that customers can select, order and pay for their food and drinks without having to leave their table or wait at the bar.”

SSP Operations Local Site Marketing Manager Jackie Smith said: “This new initiative is just one example of how we can use cutting-edge technology to make the experience of travelling through the airport more enjoyable and less stressful. We’re delighted to be able to offer this world first to our customers at Bristol.”

QikServe Founder Daniel Rodgers said: “At QikServe we are committed to improving the dining experience for customers by enabling them to overcome service barriers through their smartphone. It’s like having a waiter in your pocket. Customers love the speed, convenience and simplicity. We are delighted to welcome Bristol Airport on board, with many more venues to follow.”
