Avolta reveals French-inspired bakery concept LOAF at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol

THE NETHERLANDS. Leading travel experience player Avolta has unveiled French-inspired bakery concept LOAF at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. It offers nearly 200 seats.

Located at the former site of Café Chocolat and Seafood & Bubbles, LOAF becomes part of Schiphol’s reimagined Lounge 1.

Avolta said LOAF has been designed with an intuitive service flow to accommodate large passenger volumes without compromising on atmosphere or quality

The food offer includes freshly prepared hot and cold sandwiches made with locally supplied breads, as well as a selection of French pâtisserie from buttery croissants to delicate éclairs and pain au chocolat.

Describing the eatery, Avolta noted: “The display feels curated, spacious – a hallmark of the design approach that prioritises clarity, calm and choice. LOAF delivers artisan charm with the grace and efficiency required for a modern-day airport. It brings a new dimension to travel dining: spacious, elegant and built for flow.

“It is a warm, welcoming space that blends the ambiance of a classic French bakery with the operational excellence to serve a high-volume international crowd, without ever feeling rushed or crowded.”

Avolta CEO Northern, Eastern and Central Europe Walter Seib said, “We are very excited to introduce LOAF to travellers. A combination of French inspiration with a local twist, we want to create a reference for our international airport together with our long-standing partner Amsterdam Airport Schiphol.

“Our mission is to not only offer delicious products, but also to create a unique experience for our travellers. I compliment the local Avolta team for the design of this French-inspired bakery, which creates a unique atmosphere with its open terraces, warm colours and mosaic tones.”

Schiphol Chief Commercial Officer Arthur Reijnhart commented, “We’re investing heavily in improving the passenger experience at the airport with a clear goal: we want to make travelling via Schiphol increasingly attractive.

“With the opening of LOAF, we’re once again adding a high-quality concept. Besides renewing our food & beverage concepts, we’re strengthening our retail offering with brands like Louis Vuitton and Rituals, and building an airport where the overall experience is central.

“This way, we offer travellers an appealing mix of luxury, convenience, and quality.” ‍
