FINLAND. Plaza Premium Group (PPG) has unveiled Bites & Plates, its latest culinary concept at Helsinki Airport.
Located on the ground floor of the airport’s new two-storey complex, the dining venue reinforces the hospitality group’s growing food & beverage portfolio.
Bites & Plates brings together international flavours and streamlined service, designed for the fast-paced airport environment while delivering a more refined dining option for modern travellers.

Centred on curated journeys, the concept embraces Japandi design, combining Japanese and Scandinavian minimalism, using raw materials such as brushed steel, terracotta and natural wood.
The space delivers what the company describes as a ‘sensory reset’ for on-the-go passengers seeking healthier, high-quality dining.
Culinary offering

Under the direction of PPG Global Director of Culinary Andreas Hoehne, and with support from Regional Executive Chef Pratish Nair, the culinary programme adopts a global-local hybrid approach guided by the ‘honest food’ principle.
The menu brings together international and local offerings, made with fresh, minimally processed ingredients.
The offerings are divided into ‘Bites’ for sharing-style international small plates and ‘Plates’ for more substantial, nutritionally balanced mains.

Food options span international dishes, from Middle Eastern mezze and Spanish patatas bravas to Japanese karaage chicken and Nordic-inspired specialities.
The menu is complemented by a beverage selection featuring signature creations such as the Cloudberry Spritz and Arctic Mule.

Built around the varied schedules of international travellers, Bites & Plates adopts a flexible service model that maximises passenger dwell time, with a menu focused on clarity, quick selection and efficient delivery.
The restaurant is divided into distinct seating zones, including single-seat options with runway views and comfortable sofa seating for passengers with longer pre-departure dwell time.

As part of its sustainability agenda, PPG has implemented compostable packaging and prioritised ingredient provenance and minimal processing at Bites & Plates. The approach also supports regional food ecosystems by favouring fresher ingredients sourced through simpler supply chains.
The opening forms part of a broader expansion at Helsinki Airport, with PPG preparing to launch its Lumi lounge on the second floor of the new complex.
The company will also upgrade its existing lounge into Plaza Premium Lounge Aurora, strengthening its premium offering for airline partners and walk-in guests.
Inspired by Finland’s heritage and natural surroundings, the names Lumi (snow) and Aurora (wave) reference the country’s distinctive seasons and landscapes.
Lumi will offer a lounge experience for a wide range of travellers, while Aurora will cater to travellers seeking a more premium and exclusive experience.
