UK. Bristol Airport is inviting companies to tender for two airside concession opportunities, one a specialist retail unit (100sq m) and the other a food & beverage kiosk or small unit (30sq m). Both concessions will have a five-year contract duration.
Tender documents can be requested up to 24 March (retail) and 3 March (F&B) for the two opportunities.
The retail space is pre-existing, and is currently occupied on a temporary basis by Boots while the retailer’s new main store at the airport is fitted out.
The new F&B space is located on a mezzanine level at the airport. Bristol Airport noted that the opportunity could suit a provider of healthy and fresh drink and food items for both eat-in or take away, but is open to other potential uses.
Bristol Airport bills itself as the fastest recovering major UK airport and expects 2023 to be the busiest in its history. In 2019, the airport set a record high for traffic, serving 8.9 million passengers.

Bristol Airport Head of Commercial Tom Hack told The Moodie Davitt Report: “We are keen to speak to experienced travel retail and F&B operators. Bristol Airport expects high standards for our customer experience and so operators must ensure these units look fantastic and are complemented by excellent customer service from the first check-in opening time, right through until the last flight boards.”
Hack also noted that “hundreds of millions of pounds” will be spent on developing the airport in the next five years including an extension to the terminal building and the construction of new car parks.
