CHILE. Costa Rican company Café Britt has opened its largest café in Latin America in the new US$990 million international terminal building of Santiago’s Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport. The 500sq m landside eatery represents an investment of US$1.5 million.
It is Café Britt’s second outlet at the airport, joining a 150sq m airside café which is operated by Morpho Travel Experience. Combined, the two facilities employ more than 120 staff.

The new café is operated 24 hours a day, offering breakfast, lunch and dinner, plus to-go options.
Traditional Chilean dishes are prominent on the menu and the café’s offer also includes an extensive range of French pastries.
Café Britt Chile Country Manager Atilio Derosas said: “The Britt Café Bakery combines the experience of specialised baristas serving the best gourmet coffee and culinary offerings of the highest quality.”
Café Britt – which opened a café at Jorge Chávez International Airport in Lima, Peru in 2020 – will open two more airport cafés this year at the main airports serving the Chilean cities of Concepción and Punta Arenas.
The company was founded in 1985 as a gourmet coffee exporter, since expanding to include the production of chocolates as well as operating and franchising cafés. It currently has over 500 gourmet products and experiences in the form of Britt Café & Bakery outlets and the Café Britt Coffee Tour.
