Brown-Forman Corporation has introduced a 100% recycled bottle for the Woodford Reserve Distiller’s Select 50ml format, set to launch in global travel retail with Delta Airlines this month.
This initiative reinforces the company’s commitment to sustainability and reducing its carbon footprint.
Made using advanced resin that delivers high recycled content, the updated packaging replaces the previous PET bottles while preserving clarity and quality.

The shift to a 100% recycled bottle is projected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from the primary package (bottle, lid and label) by 30% or up to 204 metric tonnes annually, while eliminating 101 metric tonnes of virgin plastic from manufacturing.
Woodford Reserve Master Distiller Elizabeth McCall said: “The transition reflects our commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship. As a brand that values craftsmanship and quality, it is crucial for us to ensure our products help safeguard the environment for future generations.”
The move builds on the drinks company’s introduction of PCR packaging for Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey 50ml bottles in 2023.
The global roll-out of the new Woodford Reserve 50ml bottle will be led by Delta Airlines, which will be the first to feature the recycled packaging during its inflight service.
Brown-Forman Director of Global Environmental Health, Safety and Sustainability Andy Battjes said: “Increasing the use of PCR materials in our packaging is a vital component of Brown-Forman’s overall sustainability strategy.
“We look forward to expanding the use of 100% PCR content to additional products and packaging formats as we continue to work toward reducing our environmental footprint.” ✈
