Cairo International Airport announces F&B concession opportunity

EGYPT. Cairo International Airport is inviting bids for the operation of its Terminal 3 food court for a period of five years.

Airport owner Cairo Airport Company (CAC) said it was seeking experienced operators to provide food & beverage services at the terminal.

The food court is located airside in the international departure area. The concession opportunity is for more than three different concepts which CAC said may include a branded fast food concept, a western-style casual dining outlet and a branded café. The area also includes an outlet in the bus gates and a recognised restaurant/fast food concept in the departure area (public area).

“The goals of this concession are to provide first class and a broad variety of food & beverage services to travellers and airport users, provide quality and value to airport customers, and provide innovative concepts that combine broad customer appeal, increase the friendliness and convenience of [the airport] to passengers and visitors and enhance [its] image,” said CAC.

CAC noted that the food court should include a “significant variety of branded concepts recognised worldwide”. At least 50% of the available concept space must include “successful airport concepts and brands”. The remaining area may be comprised of “successful and widely recognised” local concepts that are currently in the marketplace, CAC stated.
