Camus announces opening of Vietnam office – 30/05/08

Camus Area Director Richard Ferne continues his long association with the region with responsibility for Indonesia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea

VIETNAM. French Cognac house Camus is continuing its mission to develop closer relationships with its international consumers with the opening of a new Vietnam-based representative office.

The new office will play a key role in adapting and defining the brand strategy from a localised perspective, said the spirits supplier. Camus already has sales teams based in Bordeaux, London, Hong Kong, Tokyo and Beijing.

The opening further increases the company’s Asia Pacific presence following the successful start-up of Camus’ fully-owned distribution company in Shanghai last autumn.

“The opening of the new office in Vietnam calls for a reorganisation within our commercial team dedicated to Asian markets,” said Camus Commercial Director Asia Pacific Michael Beamish.

After an initial transition period when the team will work together across the various markets, Philippe Jamme, currently based in Hong Kong, will relocate to Vietnam to manage the duty free and domestic markets of Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, Thailand and Malaysia.

Richard Ferne will remain based in Hong Kong office with the following markets under his responsibility: Indonesia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea and some key multinational duty free retailers.

Michael Beamish will handle Japan, Australia and New Zealand, in addition to continuing to manage the Asia Pacific team.

Camus President Cyril Camus will now manage both the duty free and domestic teams dedicated to China.
