Cartier and China Duty Free Group team up for exclusive Chinese New Year experience at cdf Sanya

A blend of the Maison’s heritage and Chinese culture sets the stage for a celebration, offering visitors an immersive retail experience 

CHINA. Cartier has partnered with China Duty Free Group to unveil an immersive Chinese New Year shopping experience at the VIP lounge of cdf Sanya International Duty Free Shopping Complex.

From 23 January to 5 February, the luxury house unveiled a reimagined 200sq m salon, offering a blend of cultural experiences such as tea appreciation and Chinese calligraphy, alongside a curated showcase of fine jewellery, watches and accessories.

Cartier Hainan Managing Director Raymond Chew said: “The turnout for the Cartier Chinese New Year event in Sanya exceeded our expectations, and this is a testament to the outstanding partnership with China Duty Free Group and the right approach to prioritise on traveller experience.

“This festive event was dedicated to curate authentic, immersive and meaningful connections with our clients, and we are convinced that this commitment will continue to fuel our ambition of elevating the luxury retail experience in Hainan.”

The exclusive salon featured Cartier’s famed panther and offered interactive experiences, celebrating both craftsmanship and culture.

Visitors explored traditional Chinese calligraphy, origami and paper cutting, with the panther enhancing the experience.

The space showcased traditional Chinese tea appreciation and live guzheng performances, connecting the Maison’s heritage with Chinese culture.
