SINGAPORE. China Duty Free Group (CDFG) and fine jewellery brand Qeelin, owned by Kering Group, have opened a standalone boutique in Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 1.

The store opened on the eve of Lunar New Year 2024 (10 February).

Featuring an elegant colour palette of gold and red, it offers Qeelin’s fine jewellery ranges as well as limited-edition releases and CDF exclusives in a relaxing atmosphere. The boutique is surrounded by other luxury stores in the terminal and is strategically located next to Jewel Changi.

The opening marks CDFG’s entry into Singapore travel retail; a significant step in the development of its overseas duty free business.

CDFG, which has partnered with Qeelin to support its growth in the global market, will operate the boutique and leverage its extensive expertise in managing Qeelin in Hainan and other domestic Chinese locations.

Qeelin’s jewellery combines oriental symbolism with modernity and craftsmanship. It has more than 130 points of sale worldwide in Asia, Europe, North America and Australia with Greater China as its main market.

As reported, the opening of the Qeelin store in Changi follows the unveiling of CDFG’s duty free store at Cambodia’s Siem Reap-Angkor International Airport in October 2023, its first store in Southeast Asia.

CDFG Chairman and General Manager Wang Xuan commented: “The Asia Pacific region is a key market for both CDFG and Qeelin’s expansion, with Singapore Changi Airport as one of the most important travel retail markets.

“Expanding our business in Singapore perfectly aligns with our development strategy and demonstrates our strength in operating at global hub airports. CDFG is committed to strengthening our core capabilities, steadily driving our international growth strategy, and providing consumers with more comprehensive and convenient services.”

Qeelin Chief Executive Officer Christophe Artaux added: “Together with CDFG, Qeelin is thrilled to open its first boutique at Singapore Changi Airport and reached another milestone of the brand’s international development plan. While we celebrate Qeelin’s 20th anniversary this year, we look forward to bringing the modern vision of oriental aesthetics to the world through our jewellery designs and stories.” ✈
