Omani fine perfumery house Amouage has collaborated with Dubai Duty Free to launch two fragrances – Dia 40 Woman and Jubilation 40 Man – in travel retail.
The Amouage fragrances are available exclusively at Dubai International Airport until 20 December. Coincidentally, both Amouage and Dubai Duty Free are celebrating their 40th anniversaries this year.
The two fragrances extend Amouage’s collection of Exceptional Extraits. Amouage Chief Creative Officer Renaud Salmon said: “By their very nature the Exceptional Extraits possess a sense of the celebratory, as they are a tribute to the highlights of the past. That’s why they had to become part of our 40th anniversary celebrations.”
Dubai Duty Free Senior Vice President for Purchasing Sharon Beecham commented: “We are pleased with this collaboration with Amouage to pre-launch exclusively these two new fragrances, a fitting celebration for both of us who are celebrating our milestone 40th anniversary. This is also a testament to our strong partnership with brands like Amouge to bring new and exciting offerings for our customers who traveled during our anniversary.”
Composed in 2002 by French perfumer and writer Jean-Claude Ellena, Dia Woman is regarded as one of Amouage’s most feminine floral bouquets.
The latest line extension, Dia 40 Woman is described as “effervescent and light-hearted, yet always exuding refinement” and is the work of Perfumer Alexandra Carlin. The fragrance opens with notes of aldehydes and musks, leading to a floral quartet of rose, orange blossom, carnation and ylang-ylang and closing with orris, sandalwood and amyris.
Jubilation XXV Man was released to mark Amouage’s 25th anniversary in 2008. Blending Eastern and Western styles, the popular Bertrand Duchaufour composition “won admiration as one of perfumery’s most compelling statements on masculinity”.
Duchaufour’s latest fragrance, Jubilation 40 Man retains the original’s blackberry opening, adding a hint of blackcurrant to lead to a heart of honeyed tobacco notes, with frankincense, balsams and resins. Notes of patchouli, cistus and opopanax are also evident.
Dia 40 Woman is presented in a dusk copper bottle while Jubilation 40 Man features a honey-gold colour. Both bottles are finished with the Gift of Kings seal on the neck, with a layer of golden dust added to outer packaging. A sleeve has been created to celebrate the 40th anniversary.
Dia 40 Woman and Jubilation 40 are available in 100ml bottles, with an RRP of US$500.
