Luxury house Chanel has unveiled an ultra-concentrated nighttime treatment: Sublimage L’Extrait de Nuit.
The packaging has a black and gold palette, and the glass bottle houses a refill that can be removed and replaced. It is now available in selected Chanel stores in global travel retail.
The Sublimage L’Extrait de Nuit formula accounts for the chronobiological factors of the skin. It incorporates a naturally derived chrono peptide and an active ingredient complex obtained from swertia (a medicinal herb indigenous to the Himalayas). Swertia’s reparative ability complements the properties of polyfractioned vanilla planifolia.

Chanel noted the treatment is “more than a reformulation – it is the rejuvenating power of eight hours (based on self-assessment by 103 women) of sleep captured in a bottle”.
It added: “By targeting the precious nighttime hours, Sublimage L’Extrait de Nuit becomes a metronome for beauty.”
The brand emphasised the impact of daily biological rhythms, internal and external aggressors – such as pollution, UV rays and stress – on skin quality and the buildup of senescent cells, which accelerate signs of aging.
Chanel remarked that nighttime is “free from the stresses of the day, and the skin is able to activate its cellular repair mechanisms and eliminate toxins”. The active ingredients in Sublimage L’Extrait de Nuit work at night, targeting the three stages of senescence: initiation, diffusion and installation.
L’Extrait de Nuit features vanilla from Madagascar and poly fractioned vanilla planifolia which target the senescence initiation stage. Himalayan swertia, studied at Chanel’s open-sky laboratory in Bhutan, targets the second and third stages of senescence.
Sublimage L’Extrait de Nuit is ‘a true ritual of wellbeing’, Chanel said. It is an oil-in-water formula and its scent incorporates vanilla aroma with notes of linden blossom and a heart of lily of the valley and cyclamen. ✈
