Luxury house Chanel has introduced several new makeup innovations, including the Ombre Essentials eye range and Les Beiges Summer Spirit blush collection.
Chanel has also debuted a new campaign film for Bleu De Chanel starring American-French actor Timothée Chalame and directed by celebrated filmmaker Martin Scorsese.
Chalamet is known for his roles in the Dune film franchise as well as Wonka and Call Me By Your Name. Scorsese is one of the most-acclaimed filmmakers of modern times and is renown for classic films Goodfellas, Taxi Driver, Casino, Raging Bull and The Departed among others.
Scorsese directed the first Bleu de Chanel film in 2010. This latest film portrays the many facets of a man ‘forging his own path’, the brand said. Chalamet stars in the film and portrays a man on a quest to find himself. It finishes with the tagline ‘Find your blue, find yourself’.
Commenting on the film, Scorsese said: “The world has changed. There’s another aspect to celebrity in a way. Which is even more extreme than ten or 15 years ago.”
The Bleu de Chanel campaign film will be shown across Chanel’s stores and media in global travel retail.
Ombre Essentielle
The Ombre Essentielle Eyeshadow palette was designed to emphasise the eye with graphic colours. It can be applied in three different ways and worn on its own or layered to create a variety of beauty looks.
Designed by Comettes Collective makeup artist Cécile Paravina, the palette features 14 modern shades with hues in matte, satin and metallic finishes. It comes in a case with the iconic double-C engraving, a wide mirror and three versatile applicators.
The eyeshadows come in an ultra-soft lightweight powder texture with a long-lasting formula enriched with sage oil.
Paravina also developed three shades of Chanel’s Noir Allure mascara. These are Lilas, Rouge Intense and Orange Bruni which are lilac mauve, orange and brick-brown shades, respectively.
Les Beiges Summer Spirit
The Chanel Les Beiges Summer Spirit collection comprises five new glow powder, bronzer and blush shades. These are light coral, medium coral, medium rose gold, deep rose gold and deep mauve.
The powders, which combine a blush, bronzer and highlighter in one, are designed to warm the complexion for a healthy sun-kissed glow that lasts up to eight hours.
Both collections are now available in selected Chanel stores in global travel retail. ✈
