SINGAPORE. Changi Airport Group has invited direct approaches for the key books, magazines and stationery concession at Terminal 2 and the Budget Terminal at Changi Airport, rather than opting for an open tender.
The company said it was inviting interested companies to participate in a “Direct Approach Exercise” for the concession at T2 and the Budget Terminal. Approaches must be in by 12 January 2010.
The initiative underlines the greater flexibility that Changi Airport Group has since it was corporatised earlier this year. The change of approach suggests it is seeking to widen the potential number of applicants for a key element of its business.
“The company should have a good track record in the business of retailing books, magazines, newspapers, postcards, pens, and stationery items,” it said.
The concession covers five outlets: three in T2 and two in the Budget Terminal. They are located both airside and landside, including a 349sq m outlet strategically located next to the North departure immigration counters in the Departure/Transit Lounge of T2.
