INTERNATIONAL. Singapore Changi Airport has been named as the World’s Best Airport in the Skytrax World Airport Awards 2020. Tokyo Narita and London Heathrow airports took the top honours for the dining and shopping categories respectively.
In the best airport listing, Singapore Changi was placed ahead of Tokyo Haneda and Hamad International to take the number one ranking for the eighth successive year.

Tokyo Narita triumphed in the airport dining category, where its closest challengers were Hong Kong International and Singapore Changi in second and third place respectively.

Meanwhile, Heathrow took first place in the airport shopping category, ahead of Incheon and Singapore Changi airports.

The rankings, which are run by UK airline and airport consultancy Skytrax, are based on feedback from independent air passenger surveys across 550 major airports.
Speaking after receiving the top honour, Changi Airport Group Chief Executive Officer Lee Seow Hiang said: “Changi Airport is humbled to receive this affirmation from our travellers, made possible by the strong support from our airport partners.
“This has been a challenging year for all us. Like everyone else, here at Changi, we continue to do our best to safeguard and protect the health of our travellers, our visitors and our airport workers. We wish everyone in the international aviation community well. Let’s look forward to better times and soon.”
Skytrax CEO Edward Plaisted said: “For Singapore Changi Airport to be voted the World’s Best Airport title for eight consecutive years is a remarkable achievement and demonstrates a simply fantastic level of consistency.”
