SINGAPORE. This festive season, Changi Airport’s programme of Christmas activities (taking place from 14 November 2014 to 5 January 2015) will be based on the theme of Disney.
Taking centre-stage in the festivities will be a three-storey, interactive Neuschwanstein Castle, located in Terminal 2’s Departure Hall. The castle – which was inspiration for the original Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty castles featured in the Disney films – will have a moving train experience inside it, taking visitors through the charms of the German countryside.
At the Neuschwanstein Castle there will be daily multi-sensory shows with an engaging storyline and captivating light displays and songs, said Changi Airport Group. Show times on weekdays are: 5pm, 6pm, 7pm, 8pm and 9pm and weekends, public holidays and eve of public holidays: 1pm, 3pm, 5pm, 6pm, 7pm, 8pm and 9pm.
To tie in with the season of giving, Changi Airport will also be giving away Christmas freebies. Visitors at the Neuschwanstein Castle can collect tickets before each show time, which can be used in exchange for a special Disney gift at the redemption booth. Performers throughout the airport will also be handing out goodies for guests at various times of the day.
Changi will also be decked out with snowy Swiss chalets in Terminal 3’s transit area, traditional Japanese cottages in Terminal 2’s transit area, and a mini New York City Broadway in Terminal 1’s transit area. Five metre tall Mickey and Minnie Mouse topiaries will also be on display in the public area in Terminal 2. At all of these displays, visitors can read more about the different country destinations.
