Chicago O’Hare Airport launches mobile ordering and delivery platform

Travellers can browse through a wide selection of airport food options through this new service

USA. The Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) has rolled out ORDer, an airport-wide mobile ordering and delivery platform at Chicago O’Hare International Airport.

The company has partnered with Servy, Hyde Park Hospitality and Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield (URW) to deliver the new travel retail experience.

The programme is powered by Servy’s Grab Airport Marketplace, the largest ecommerce platform to connect guests to airport restaurants and retailers.

The ORDer programme enables passengers to order food, drinks and retail products from their phones for pick-up or delivery inside the airport.

The service is available at ORDerORD.com in addition to several other travel digital channels including the American Airlines and Priority Pass apps. It is designed to shorten wait times for travellers at the airport.

CDA Commissioner Jamie L. Rhee said: “Offering mobile ordering throughout both of Chicago’s airports is just another way we are providing innovative amenities for our passengers.

“This partnership supports Chicago’s vision for an airport that serves as a modern, efficient and accessible international gateway while advancing local, minority-owned and small business participation at our airports.”

This latest launch of ORDer completes the expansion of mobile ordering across all terminals at the airport after it was first introduced at Terminal 5 in 2020.

In 2020, the CDA, Midway Partnership and Hyde Park Hospitality launched a mobile ordering service at Chicago Midway International Airport.

The new service combines Servy’s platform with the local operational expertise of Hyde Park Hospitality and the global integrated marketing capabilities of URW Airports.

Servy Chief Experience Officer Jeff Livney said: “As travel has returned and even exceeds pre-pandemic operations across the US and beyond, it is important for airports to provide a convenient digital platform for guests who now expect them as standard in all areas of their lives.

“Through Servy’s Grab Airport Marketplace, ORDer offers convenient, flexible options enabling travellers and airport staff to easily place orders from their own devices and bypass the line with express pick-up.

“We’re thrilled to be launching this programme in collaboration with our local operational partner, Hyde Park Hospitality, and leverage the marketing experience of our strategic partner, URW Airports, with CDA to enhance the travel experience and reach more guests during their journey through O’Hare.”

Hyde Park Hospitality Executive Vice President and Partner Cortez Carter added: “We are excited to be a part of this launch to bring mobile ordering to all of our Chicago airports. As a Chicago-based, 100% minority-owned business, we are as proud to bring this technology to our hometown airports as we are to participate in the airports’ continued expansion and growth.” ✈
