CHINA. China Duty Free Group (CDFG), has been honoured by the State Council’s powerful State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC).
CDFG, the world’s number one travel retailer by sales for the past three years according to The Moodie Davitt Report’s annual benchmark sector rankings, is included in SASAC’s recently released list of ‘Model Enterprises of World-class Calibre Characterised by Speciality, Excellence, Uniqueness and Innovation’.

Promoting the development of world-class model enterprises underpinned by specialty, excellence, uniqueness and innovation is a key SASAC mission, CDFG noted. This mission is in line with the Central Committee and State Council’s strategic plan to accelerate the development of Chinese enterprises with world-class calibre.
CDFG said the programme forms an integral part of the ‘Four Special Actions’ – business model demonstration, management improvement, value creation and brand leadership. The creation of the list is designed to accelerate the development of leading homegrown enterprises that sit at the top of the global value chain and supply chain in their respective industries. It also aims to foster a group of enterprises that are leaders within certain niche areas or renowned for their unique specialities.
The goal is to have over 100 Model Enterprises across various fields and business scales.
In recent years, under the leadership of its parent company China Tourism Group, CTG Duty Free said it has remained committed to the strategic goal of building a world-class travel retail business with international competitiveness.
“Through deep reforms, we have successfully achieved continuous and high-quality development; and comprehensive results in cultivating speciality, excellence, uniqueness and innovation,” the company said.
“The naming of CTG Duty Free as a ‘Model Enterprise’ is testament of SASAC’s recognition of our innovative drive, governance capacity and market leadership, and will certainly help us further improve our industry status, brand image and future development.”

CTG Duty Free said that motivated by this honour, it will strive to continuously enhance its core competitiveness and core functions, focus on key business, and improve services and image.

“We will stay true to our values of integrity and quality, embrace our social responsibility, and strive to be an industry model with world-class services, bold innovation, robust management and strong characteristics,” the company added. ✈
