CHINA. The Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People’s Republic of China yesterday (10 March) revealed a 40-strong second list of countries to which group tours can resume on a pilot basis.
As reported, outbound group tours to 20 countries (see table below) resumed on a pilot scheme basis on 6 February following the lifting of COVID-related outbound travel restrictions.
The news will come as a particular boost to travel retail in certain of the countries mentioned, including China’s near neighbour Vietnam as well as countries further afield such as France – traditionally highly popular with Chinese tourists – and Spain. ✈
