Chivas goes 3D in Hong Kong with The Chivas Brothers’ Blend launch

HONG KONG. The Chivas Brothers’ Blend, the new travel retail exclusive from Pernod Ricard-owned Chivas Regal, made its debut in Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) last week with retailer Sky Connection. Chivas Regal Master Blender Colin Scott was on hand to celebrate the launch and share a taste of the new whisky with HKIA passengers.

Offered exclusively to travel retailers, The Chivas Brothers’ Blend is a permanent addition to the Chivas portfolio, and is the first launch for the brand since Chivas Regal 25yo in 2007.

The interactive photo booth provided passengers with the opportunity to bring home a personalised souvenir

The highlight of the Chivas exhibit at the high-traffic Departures duty free area is the first-ever glasses-free 42-inch 3D TV installed for advertising at HKIA.

Passengers learned about the Chivas heritage through 3D images of the brand’s commemorative video, while a photo booth provided them with the opportunity to bring home a souvenir.

The photo booth features an interactive monitor where passengers can view themselves with the Chivas Emporium – a recreation of the early store shelves with a contemporary look and feel – as the background. The image can then be printed or emailed with a personalised message.

“The exhibit, with a sales counter for travellers to browse through and enjoy, is without a doubt generating much pleasure and excitement amongst air passengers,” said JCDecaux Transport, which has been managing the advertising sales concessions for HKIA since its opening in 1998.

JCDecaux Transport General Manager Shirley Chan, who was present during the launch celebration to welcome guests, said: “Merging innovation and creativity creates such tremendous impact, not only in enhancing the brand’s engagement with its target audience, but also in providing air passengers a delightful time as part of their travel. JCDecaux is always committed in providing the platform to deliver the ultimate result for our client needs.”
