Clinique reformulates Repairwear Laser Focus with new technology

Clinique has updated its Repairwear Laser Focus Serum, launched in 2010, with new anti-ageing technology. The revamped version – called Repairwear Laser Focus Smooths, Restores, Corrects – will be available from September in travel retail doors in the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Africa. It will be rolled out to Asia Pacific in October.

The original formula was said to deliver 63% of the visible wrinkle reducing power of a dermatological laser in just 12 weeks. The new serum goes beyond lines and wrinkles to deliver twice the smoothing effects, according to Clinique. This is thanks to new skin surfacing technology that encourages gentle yet effective exfoliation to reveal smoother, more radiant looking skin.

“In talking with our Guiding Dermatologists, we learned that patients with lines and wrinkles also had poor skin texture,” noted Dr Tom Mammone, Executive Director of Skin Physiology and Pharmacology, Clinique Research & Development, Worldwide. “This prompted us to re-evaluate the original formula to see how we could improve the serum to address poor surface texture.”

Key ingredients include Acetyl Glucosamine, to aid the skin’s natural shedding process; Salvia Sclarea (Clary) Extract, which promotes reformation of the skin’s barrier layer; whey protein to help firm the skin; and Acetyl Hexapeptide-8, which helps stimulate natural collagen production and encourages repair.

The results, Clinique claims, include significant improvements in smoothness, radiance and luminosity, in addition to a visible reduction of lines and wrinkles.

Repairwear Laser Focus Smooths, Restores, Corrects is suitable for all skin types and ages. It should be applied evenly over face morning and night – and around the eye area – after the brand’s 3-Step skin care regime.
