Cloetta makes Lagardère Travel Retail debut in Prague

Swedish confectionery specialist Cloetta Global Travel Retail is teaming up with Lagardère Travel Retail in a new permanent space at Václav Havel Airport Prague.

The Terminal 1 12sq m area is scheduled to open at the end of November and will mark the first collaboration between Cloetta and the airport retailer.

The multi-branded space will feature a range of confectionery brands, with a big focus on The Jelly Bean Factory. Travellers will be encouraged to interact through Prague-related photo opportunities and to experience the Jelly Bean factory setting.

Head of Cloetta Global Travel Retail Berend-Jan van Egmond said: “This is a big step for Cloetta. Not only will our new space showcase our brands, it also gives us the opportunity to show the industry what the company and its brands are capable of.”

Full of surprises: The Jelly Bean Factory products are set to claim the limelight in the new space

Cloetta Global Travel Retail Manager Sven van Dijk commented: “The Czech Republic is one of our targeted markets for The Jelly Bean Factory. We feel the brand is a perfect fit for this location and the goal is to extend the network of branded spaces throughout Europe and beyond.”

The Jelly Bean Factory was founded in Dublin, Ireland in 1998 by father and son Peter and Richard Cullen and acquired by Cloetta in 2014.

A brand refresh includes subtle design changes and an increased use of paper and carton in packaging as sustainability becomes an increasingly important focus. The Jelly Bean Factory offers 36 flavours, including newcomers Cherry Blossom Soda, Peach Bubble Tea, Forest Fruits and Salted Caramel. The newcomers will replace polarising flavours such as Licorice.

The jelly beans contain natural flavourings and plant-based colours. They are suitable for vegetarians and are free from gluten, allergen and palm oil, Halal compliant and Kosher certified.

Cloetta was founded in 1862 and has developed into a leading confectionery company in the Nordic region and The Netherlands.

The company specialises in manufacturing and marketing confectionery, chocolate products, nuts, pastilles, chewing gum and pick & mix concepts. Its products are available in over 50 markets worldwide.
