HONG KONG. Welsh gold jewellery company Clogau continues to advance in Asia. In late January the brand made its debut in Hong Kong, with an opening at the Kai Tak Cruise Terminal, located against the backdrop of Victoria Harbour and built on the former runway of Hong Kong’s Kai Tak airport.
The state-of-the art terminal offers a high-class cruise, dining and entertainment experience for passengers, locals and visitors alike. The terminal was designed by Foster + Partners, which also built London’s City Hall and Millennium Bridge.
Clogau described the HK Cruise Plaza shop as “one of the most inspiring retail environments” |
“The location is utterly inspiring with unlimited and diverse potential,” noted Clogau’s APAC New Business Development Manager Artemis Couroupaki. “It has been a great honour for Clogau to become a part of this project by joining the retail portfolio of HK Cruise Plaza. The professionalism of the team, the HK Cruise Plaza branding and the retail offering are truly on a par with the state-of-art facilities.”
HK Cruise Plaza Merchandising Manager Ms Jannie Chu commented: “We are delighted to welcome Clogau among our brands. Clogau, with its royal gold, has a unique story to tell and we are optimistic that our customers will embrace the brand and fall in love with its jewellery.”
Clogau’s Kai Tak jewellery range showcases some of the brand’s most popular collections, including Fairy, Cariad, Am Byth and Awelon, available in 18ct gold, 9ct gold and sterling silver. Price-points range from US$129 to US$2,000, thereby offering a wide variety of options to suit all budgets.
The Clogau Compose bridal collection features the rare Welsh gold worn by British royalty |
Clogau’s new bridal range is also available. The Clogau Compose collection celebrates the brand’s royal and cultural heritage, and comprises a selection of bridal rings that contain the same rare Welsh gold that features in the wedding rings of British royalty.
A number of ring designs incorporate the brand’s signature Tree of Life filigree, complemented by a modern, contemporary twist thanks to the choice of diamond cut and gold combinations available.
“Clogau has built a strong presence on cruise ships down the years, [teaming] with reputable partners such as Harding Brothers, Cunard, Princess Cruises and Tallink, and being in a cruise terminal environment complements our strategy to develop our ground duty free business,” commented Couroupaki.
“Launching this shop-in-shop corner in Hong Kong has double significance for us, as it is the prelude to entering the Hong Kong retail market, which is due by the end of 2015. On behalf of Clogau, I would like to wholeheartedly thank HK Cruise Plaza for their support.”
