UK. Clogau, the leading Welsh gold jewellery brand, has entered the fast-growing Asian market with airline listings on both China Airlines and Dragonair following the TFWA Asia Pacific show in Singapore earlier this year.
Head of International Sales David Butler says that with many more listings in the pipeline, the brand is hoping to establish a strong sales base in the region.
Butler said: “We researched the preferences of East Asian consumers and adapted our jewellery to suit. For example, we have scaled down the size of our pendants but maintained the style, exceptional craftsmanship and quality synonymous with Clogau.”
Clogau’s growing list of travel retail partners includes British Airways, Virgin Atlantic Airways and Canada Air.
With a new brochure published in September and preparation under way for the TFWA World Exhibition in October, Butler says he is confident that success in the Asian market will generate more interest in other target markets, such as the US.
