CHINA. Sinopharm Group’s travel retail arm China National Service Corporation (CNSC) has snapped up the contract to operate arrivals and departures duty-free stores in Terminal 2 at Fuzhou Changle International Airport, Fujian province.
The concession covers 831.46sq m, including 302.41sq m in arrivals and 529.05sq m in departures.
The award reinforces CNSC’s domestic travel retail footprint, following its successful bid for Terminal 1 departures duty-free operations in 2024.

The winning project also strengthens CNSC’s platform for expansion along the Belt and Road and across South China’s duty-free sector.
Fuzhou Airport has been designated by the Civil Aviation Administration of China as a gateway hub for the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road under the Belt and Road Initiative, serving as a key aviation link across the Taiwan Strait, Southeast Asia and global markets.
Backed by advanced infrastructure and a multimodal sea-air-land transport system, the airport continues to enhance passenger mobility, strengthen cross-strait commercial and travel ties, and tap into the cultural assets of Fujian and Taiwan.

As a result, the airport is fast emerging as a key platform and connection, driving cross-strait integration and fostering economic, trade and cultural exchanges.
With this win, CNSC is set to benefit from the growing passenger traffic at the airport, which recorded 16.12 million passengers in 2025, a year-on-year increase of +5.3%.
This successful bid marks a key milestone in CNSC’s ‘synergistic channel development’ strategy.
Building on its strong performance at Fuzhou Airport, the company will focus on key categories, including tobacco, spirits & wine and beauty, across its arrival and departure stores.

At the same time, the retailer will integrate health and wellness offerings at the store, rolling out its ‘duty free + health’ travel retail model, alongside a dedicated cross-strait speciality products zone to highlight its competitive advantage.
As a state-owned enterprise, CNSC’s latest win at Fuzhou Airport reflects its commitment to integrating into national regional development strategies and supporting the new development paradigm.
Looking ahead, the company noted its plan to leverage its ‘duty free + health’ strategy to support Fuzhou’s status as an international retail hub, deepen cross-strait economic and cultural ties between Fujian and Taiwan, and enhance its commercial appeal.
Through commercial innovation, the company aims to support China’s dual circulation strategy and contribute to its high-level opening up. ✈
