New addition: Colio Estate Wines’ Girls’ Night Out Strawberry Samba wine beverage contains strawberry and watermelon flavours |
CANADA. Canadian winery Colio Estate Wines has expanded its Girls’ Night Out brand to include flavoured wine beverages in its portfolio.
The two new additions to the brand family are: Tropical Tango, a grapefruit, pineapple and lemonade flavoured wine beverage; and Strawberry Samba, with strawberry and watermelon flavours.
“We have launched a new Girls’ Night Out product from Colio Estate Wines – low-alcohol flavoured wines – and so far the buzz they’re creating is very exciting,” said Colio Estate Wines’ travel retail agent Amy Hildreth of ALFA Brands. “These new Girls’ Night Out flavoured wines will be available to duty free from 14 June.”
“It’s a natural progression to expand the brand line-up to include flavoured wine beverages,” added Colio Estate Wines President Jim Clark. “Not all occasions call for traditional wine styles. This is a lighter, fruitier product that’s perfect for those informal and relaxed activities we all enjoy.”
Dubbed the “party line” by Colio, both flavours make their debut just before the summer season. Both products are lighter in alcohol at 6.5%abv.
The Girls’ Night Out brand was launched in July 2008 with a Merlot, Chardonnay and Merlot/Chardonnay Rosé. The following year a Riesling, Pinot Grigio and Cabernet/Shiraz were added.
The brand was deemed one of the most successful VQA brands ever launched at the Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO) in Canada and in 2009 won Best Niche Marketing at the LCBO awards and garnered Colio the VQA Award of Excellence.
