Concession Planning International opens registration for airport commercial training course

cpiAUSTRALIA. Registration is now open for Concession Planning International’s (CPI) annual Airport Commercial Development and Management training course.

The event is being held for the fifth consecutive year and is taking place in Sydney, Australia between 24 and 27 July.

Airport commercial planning consultancy CPI said delegates are drawn from airport operating companies across Australia, New Zealand and further afield, including the Pacific Islands, South East Asia and the Middle East.

The course complements the well-established Cranfield University/CPI commercial course which has been running in the UK since 2000.

It combines lectures from CPI consultants Susan Gray and Jeremy Corfield and other expert guest speakers with a hands-on group planning exercise.

CPI said the course “focuses on the fundamentals of optimising non-aeronautical revenue, from maximising the passenger flow from a commercial perspective, terminal and store design, retail and food & beverage mix development, to sales and revenue forecasting, the tendering process and contract models”.

Dedicated sessions will examine the importance of understanding the customer through research and segmentation, and address ways to engage with them through marketing and branding, advertising, digital and mobile technology.

“The ultimate goal is to take a holistic, pragmatic view of how airports can optimise commercial revenue while delivering a passenger experience consistent with their own vision and ambition,” said CPI.

The course is fully residential and costs AU$4,895 (US$3,720) per person. Discounts apply for organisations registering more than one delegate.

The course brochure and registration form can be downloaded from the CPI website.
