CONFECTIONERY: Swiss Delice conquers hearts with new tastes

SWITZERLAND. Swiss Delice has been at ISM (the International Confectionery Fair) to present new products with innovative tastes which it will introduce to travel retail.

In Cologne last week, the relatively young premium brand for Swiss fine-food specialities, introduced to the trade some unusual chocolate specialities, which it says match current consumer feelings about their lives and the trend to internationalism: “Suprême Noir Authentique”, “Tiramisù” and “Brownies” in 100g bars.

With Tiramisù (pictured) and its creamy filling Swiss Delice brings some Italian zest on to the chocolate shelves. Brownies, with crispy pecan nut filling, has found another gap in the market and is growing sales in coffee shops worldwide. Suprême Noir Authentique is a dark chocolate with a remarkably high percentage of cocoa solids (78 %).

Thanks to its high percentage of cocoa, Swiss Delice claims the new Suprême Noir Authentique contains a very high amount of theobromine, which can help lift your spirits and at the same time have a relaxing effect – with less sugar and fat than milk chocolate and pralines.

Suprême Noir Authentique is available from February as a delicately slim bar. The 100g bar is packaged in aluminium and produces an intense, chocolate aroma on opening. Tiramisù and Brownies, available from April, keep their intensive aroma by having air-tight packaging, for added freshness.

The recommended retail price of Suprême Noir Authentique is €1.99 and for the filled 100 g bars €1.50.

Swiss Delice has also launched another gift offering, the Carrés Suisses (pictured) with a high-quality heart-shaped metal box in matt gold. The gift tin contains 205 g of the Swiss confectionery speciality and is available now at a recommended retail price of €13.50.
