Copenhagen traffic turns down

DENMARK. Figures just released for March 2003 show a decrease of -4.8% in the total number of passengers at Copenhagen airport compared to the same month in 2002.

International scheduled passenger traffic decreased by -4.2%, while the number of international charter passengers decreased by -9.3%. This means that the total number of international passengers decreased by -4.5%. The total number of domestic passengers shows a decrease of -7.0%.

Copenhagen Airports said the development from March 2002 to March 2003 has been negatively affected by the war in Iraq. However the decrease is also partially explained by the fact that in 2002 the main part of Easter fell during the month of March, while in 2003 Easter falls in April. Traditionally Easter means less traffic at Copenhagen.
