COSMETICS: La Prairie helps uncover younger-looking skin

SWITZERLAND. La Prairie is introducing its Cellular Microdermabrasion Cream and complementary Cellular Softening and Balancing Lotion into selected markets from this month.

Described as a state-of-the-art exfoliating and resurfacing scheme whose formulation utilises highly-refined natural diamonds, freshwater pearls and crystal quartz, the two-part Microdermabrasion treatment is said to polish and perfect the skin on the face and body; diminish lines; and stimulate the circulation. It was formerly available only in La Prairie’s exclusive spas and treatment centres.

Cellular Microdermabrasion Cream comes complete with three, colour-coded sponge applicators. White (the gentlest) is for the face; pink (medium texture) is for the body; while black is for the most problematic areas. The Cream should be massaged onto skin, before bathing, every other day for a five-day period.

Cellular Softening and Balancing Lotion is the second step in the treatment process. It is claimed to restore skin’s optimum pH balance, improve suppleness and provide anti-inflammatory benefits.

Cellular Microdermabrasion Cream is presented in a white, 125ml tube and is priced domestically at US$225. The Cellular Softening and Balancing Lotion, packaged in a 250ml frosted bottle, retails at US$125.

Also new from La Prairie is Cellular Night Repair Cream for the face, neck and décolleté. Designed to help skin repair itself when it is most receptive (repair mode is most active between 10.00pm and 4.00am, according to the company), the treatment is said to send advanced anti-ageing messages to the cells via a number of exclusive complexes. It thereby helps reduce the number and depth of wrinkles, hydrates and firms skin, stimulates the general recovery process, reduces the appearances of redness and brings back luminosity.

Cellular Night Repair Cream is presented in a 50ml jar and retails domestically at US$175.
