Bernd Beetz: “We feel strongly that this introduction will further strengthen both Coty’s and Calvin Klein’s dynamic positioning within the beauty arena.”

US. Coty and Calvin Klein Inc have consolidated their relationship with a new deal to develop and market a full line of colour cosmetics. The collection will be launched in 2012.

Coty already held the Calvin Klein fragrance licence. Make-up, however, was previously licensed to Markwins Holding Company, which unveiled its ck Calvin Klein Beauty line of colour cosmetics to travel retail at the 2007 TFWA World Exhibition.

“Coty has done an excellent job of growing our fragrance business around the world,” noted Calvin Klein Inc President and CEO Tom Murry. “We feel that there are great synergies with centralising our fragrance and colour cosmetics businesses with the same partner.”

“Coty is always looking to expand our portfolio,” added Coty CEO Bernd Beetz. “Calvin Klein fragrances have remained amongst the most popular around the world, and we feel strongly that this introduction will further strengthen both Coty’s and Calvin Klein’s dynamic positioning within the beauty arena, with a concept that pushes the boundaries of the colour cosmetics category as we know it.”
