USA. Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for 18 locations for retail, food & beverage and currency services in Terminal B and International Terminal D.
The outlets, four in Terminal B and 14 in Terminal D, have been divided into six packages. Each carries a contract term of seven years, except where stated below.
Package D1-1 consists of five landside locations for currency exchanges in Terminal D.
Package D1/2 consists of six locations across both terminals: three retail spaces for high-end fashion and accessories concepts, of which two must be nationally or internationally recognized brands, in the central shopping zone of Terminal D (10-year term); two news/convenience stores airside in Terminal B (one of which is for a 10-year term); and one news store airside in Terminal D.

Package D1-3 comprises two locations in Terminal D: a 1,481sq ft airside news/convenience store and a 205sq ft landside Arrivals news/convenience store.
Package D1-4 comprises one location each in both terminals: An airside news/convenience store of 515sq ft in Terminal B and an upscale men’s fashion outlet of 1,291sq ft airside in Terminal D.
Package D1-5 comprises two airside locations in Terminal D: a 904 sq ft destination-themed gifts concept and a 897sq ft personal care concept.
Package D1-6 is for a 1,212sq ft bar and grill airside in Terminal B.
Total annual concession sales in 2012 in Terminal B reached $27 million, split between food and beverage with $18.4 million and $8.6 million in retail. In Terminal D, food and beverage sales were $43 million and retail sales were $32.2 million, with total annual concession sales of $89.2 million.
Proposals are due by 5pm Central Time on 3 December, with a pre-proposal meeting scheduled for 16 October.
DFW is also offering four restaurant pad sites for its new Southgate Plaza, a 32-acre mixed-use development in a prime location, which will also house new DFW Airport Administration offices, a Hyatt Place Hotel and a US Postal Services Center.
