INDIA. GMR Aero has named Chiragh Oberoi (right) as Chief Executive Officer at Delhi Duty Free.
He was previously CEO – Regional Duty Free at GMR Aero (the brand name of GMR Airports Limited). Before that he was Head of Supply Chain at Indian retailer Shoppers Stop, he was CEO at Crossword Book Stores and also held senior roles at leading Indian retailer Future Group.
Oberoi (in a LinkedIn post) cited his responsibilities as strategic leadership, digital transformation, operational excellence, team and culture building, overseeing regulatory affairs and social responsibility.
As reported, GMR Aero took over full management of the duty-free operation at Indira Gandhi International Airport on 28 July from the former joint venture that included GMR, Delhi International Airport Limited and ARI.
Oberoi played a key part in transitioning the business across to GMR Aero, managing stakeholders, navigating regulatory approvals and onboarding staff. ✈
