Desigual creates new collection of bags exclusively for travel retail

Desigual has created a new range of bags exclusively for the travel retail channel, which will be presented alongside its new Spring/Summer 2015 collection at the TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes (stand number: Bay Village, Bay Terrace 04).

Inspired by Desigual’s slogan La Vida es Chula (“Life is Cool”), the travel retail exclusive bag range – a first for the brand – includes three styles with different patterns, representing a reinterpretation of the brand’s signature geometric shapes. The brown base colour combined with ecru and orange is said to symbolise sandy beaches, sunsets and “a burst of positive energy” reinforced by a message dedicated to travellers: “Travelling La Vida es Chula”.

Desigual’s SS15 collection for women, called “˜Say Something Nice!!’ is designed around a “happy casual” concept characterised by fun, easy-to-wear garments and accessories.

The fashion brand embarked on its international expansion in the travel retail channel in 2011 and now has 170 points of sale worldwide. Its latest key openings in this channel include Barcelona, Madrid and Lanzarote in Spain, Venice in Italy, Pittsburgh in the USA and São Paulo in Brazil.

The company’s goals for the forthcoming year will be expansion in Asia and South America, as well as continued consolidation in the European mainland and North America. Openings have been planned for Las Vegas, Miami, New York, Dallas and Orlando.
