DFASS to open Duty Free Express Arrivals store in Bogotá

COLOMBIA. DFASS is set to open a new concept Duty Free Express Arrivals store (left) this week at El Dorado International Airport in Bogotá, Colombia (we’ll bring you more pictures soon).

Strategically positioned, it is the first duty free store that passengers will encounter upon arrival after passing through Immigration and prior to clearing Customs.

Ranked the third-busiest airport in Latin America hosting almost 19 million passengers each year, El Dorado International Airport serves Colombia’s national flagship carrier Avianca and over 25 additional airlines. Its route network embraces North and South America, the Caribbean and Europe.

Duty Free Express is a component of DFASS’s corporate strategy to expand its footprint at key international airports around the globe.

DFASS said: “In addition to traditional duty free Arrivals shopping by virtue of our partnership with Avianca Airlines, the store is expected to outperform current standards by utilising new digital technology and a highly targeted range of products as orders can also be captured inflight and serviced upon arrival.”

DFASS Ground Stores President Jon Potash commented: “We are excited to roll out the Duty Free Express concept. Convenience, service and top international brands are the key ingredients to the new retail formula; and the DFASS/Avianca partnership enhances the benefits for the arriving passengers.”
