DFDS partners with Harry Ramsden’s to serve classic British fish and chips on the Channel

UK/FRANCE. Ferry operator DFDS has added Harry Ramsden’s fish and chips to the 7Seas restaurant menu across its six ferries operating between Dover and Calais, and Dover and Dunkirk.

The partnership was launched to coincide with National Fish and Chip Day last week (6 June). The companies introduced pop-ups onboard DFDS ferries operating on the English Channel.

Brand mascots Harry the Haddock and Jack the Pirate joined forces onboard the ships to entertain passengers with interactive activities and giveaways.

Passengers were invited to vote for their favourite sauce, with tomato ketchup emerging as the preferred fish and chips accompaniment. Participants had a chance to win Harry Ramsden’s merchandise and DFDS crossings.

DFDS Director Global Onboard Services Steven Newbery said, “This exciting new partnership with Harry Ramsden’s is a great match of two heritage brands that will enhance the quality of our onboard offer.

“Fish and chips is the most popular dish we serve onboard, and by proudly serving Harry Ramsden’s world-famous fish and chips we can offer our passengers a unique dining experience on the Channel.”

The partnership aims to upgrade the passenger experience onboard DFDS ferries and increase F&B sales

Harry Ramsden’s Director of Franchise and Licensing Mikayla Whittle commented, “We’re proud to bring Harry Ramsden’s to the high seas in partnership with DFDS – a company that shares our heritage, values and commitment to quality.

“This collaboration allows us to serve our iconic fish and chips to thousands of travellers each day, offering them a true taste of Britain while crossing the Channel.

“It reflects our ambition to grow the brand in bold, high-impact locations that elevate the customer experience.” ‍
