NEW ZEALAND. DFS Group will mark the opening of its newly renovated T Galleria by DFS, Auckland by showcasing local fashion talent in conjunction with New Zealand Fashion Week.
As reported, the store houses collections across DFS’ five pillars of luxury: fashion and accessories, beauty and fragrances, watches and jewellery, wines and spirits and food and gifts. It features more than 200 brands, including more than 30 that are available exclusively at T Galleria by DFS, Auckland. DFS said the four floors of retail at the city’s Custom House present “an exciting, modern retail experience that combines the world’s most famous luxury brands with an expertly curated selection of local products”.

To celebrate the reopening of the store after a year-long renovation, DFS is partnering with New Zealand Fashion Week to hold a major event there on 31 August (the date of its official opening). Customers will find curated fashion pieces by nine New Zealand based fashion designers, showcasing their latest ready-to-wear collections.

T Galleria by DFS, Auckland will also collaborate with local graffiti artist Otis Frizzell to highlight the store’s historical staircase, creating a fun pop-art takeover to bring a new visual experience to customers.
“We are incredibly excited to showcase New Zealand’s finest fashion design talent at T Galleria by DFS, Auckland.” said DFS Group Region President Asia South Robert Calzadilla. “Fashion is an integral part of our product assortment, and we welcome locals and travellers alike to experience an evening of glamour and excitement inside our newly renovated store.”
DFS has operated from the Custom House since 1997. The building originally opened in 1889 as a trading house for import and export business. It is located in the heart of Auckland’s Central Business District on the corner of Customs and Albert Streets, in a prime site to attract tourists and locals.
The renovation has preserved historical elements of the Custom House while modifying the architectural design. The building houses a traditional Heritage Walkway where customers can explore a chronological path that explains the historical significance of the building and maps its transformation from its beginnings until today.
DFS has been investing in upgrading its T Galleria network across Asia Pacific, including Australasia. It inaugurated its renovated Sydney downtown store in April, as reported.
