Japanese medical cosmetics brand Dr. Ci:Labo will reveal its full product portfolio at this month’s TFWA Asia Pacific Exhibition in Singapore (Level 1, P11), with an emphasis on ‘hero’ skincare lines developed by Dr. Ci:Labo Founder Dr. Yoshinori Shirono. The company will support its presentation with insights into the brand’s skincare science.
As reported, Johnson & Johnson recently acquired the Dr. Ci:Labo’s parent company Ci:z Holdings, with travel retail identified as a strategic channel to drive brand equity and sales growth.
Dr. Ci:Labo International Director Philippe Gueulet said: “The breadth of Dr. Ci:Labo’s portfolio and the unique science behind its products gives the brand a strongly differentiated position in travel retail and a clearly defined message for consumers.
“Dr. Ci:Labo products are well-suited to travellers whose primary skin concerns are often hydration, UV protection and reducing the appearance of dark spots. We look forward to working with retailers and airports to unlock the huge potential of the brand in travel retail.”
With a ‘beauty prescribed’ tagline, Dr. Ci:Labo said its core focus is on skin health and consumer wellbeing.
According to Dr. Shirono, the skin has a mix of six dimensions that define both skin health and beauty: hydration, firmness, defence, renewal, brightening and radiance.
With a team of skin experts, Dr. Shirono created a range of ‘hero’ products, which offer a balance of the six components, and will be featured at the TFWA Asia Pacific event.
Aqua-Collagen-Gel Super Moisture EX was the first skincare product developed by Dr. Shirono and has been advanced over 19 years. It is regarded as the brand’s “ultimate moisturising gel”. According to Dr. Ci:Labo, the additive-free product helps to restore skin’s texture, tone and radiance, while supporting the skin’s natural healing ability.
Aqua-Collagen-Gel Super Moisture EX features Japan’s HC Nano Collagen, two types of ceramides and three types of hyaluronic acids. The product can also be used as a toner, milky lotion, beauty essence, cream, facial mask and make-up base.
Aqua-Collagen-Gel Enrich-Lift-EX was inspired by the clinical skin-tightening therapy, Ulthera, which defies the effects of gravity on ageing skin, said the brand owner.
Key ingredients include 3D Fascia band, Gold Collagen EX and Permeable Fermented Collage. Aqua-Collagen-Gel Enrich-Lift-EX has eight functions: toner, milky lotion, beauty essence, eye-treatment cream, facial mask, make-up base, serum and massage cream.
UV Protect Spray 100 is a water-resilient, high SPF sunscreen that protects the skin against sun damage. Designed to provide anti-ageing coverage and prevent pigmentation, the sunscreen spray can be applied and re-applied over make-up throughout the day.
The product contains anti-oxidant tocopherol, which protects skin against UV-induced oxidative damage.
Dr. Shirono created the Super 100 Series Epidermal Growth Factor serum GF Serum as an addition to daily skincare regimens in order to enhance skin’s texture and lead to the appearance of youthful-looking skin.
Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF) is a naturally-occurring component found in the human body that begins to decrease with age, leading to an increase in the appearance of wrinkles, dark spots and scarring. Its discovery led to a Nobel Prize as EGF was found to be capable of stimulating skin growth at the cellular level. According to Dr. Ci:Labo, EGF has been shown to improve skin elasticity and texture while reducing the appearance of spots and wrinkles in as little as two weeks.
Super White 377VC is formulated to block melanin production, making it, Dr. Ci:Labo said, “one of the most efficient whitening treatments available over the counter”.
VC100 Essence Lotion is a multi-faceted formula designed to increase collagen generation, tighten pores, reduce dark spots, firm the skin and repair scars. The lotion combines Vitamin C derivatives and Citrus Unshiu peel extract to help improve translucency, resilience and elasticity.
