UAE. At a reception held in the offices of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of the Department of Civil Aviation, Dubai, the beneficiaries of Dubai Duty Free’s 20th Anniversary Charity Drive were presented with their respective donations by His Highness.
The Dubai Duty Free Charity Drive, which was part of the operation’s 20th anniversary celebrations and which pledged the proceeds of the anniversary day’s sales to charity, resulted in donations to nine charities.
Commenting on the Charity Drive, Dubai Duty Free managing director Colm McLoughlin said :”We are delighted to be able to celebrate Dubai Duty Free’s anniversary success with a number of worthy causes. Our anniversary day on December 20th was a record sales day [US$1.9 million in sales] and we know that the proceeds will help improve the lives of many, particularly children.”
The selected charities for the Dubai Duty Free 20th Anniversary Charity Drive included: The Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, Rashid Paediatric Centre, Dubai Centre for Special Needs, Dubai Handicapped Club, Al Noor Centre, Dubai Autism Centre, the Dubai Duty Free Charity Foundation, the Emirates Diving Association and the UK-based charity, Orbis (the chosen charity of this year’s Raven Fox charity dinner).
