UAE. Dubai Duty Free is celebrating a double win at the British Safety Council International Safety Awards, where it received the ‘International Safety Award with Distinction’ and the ‘Best in Sector Award – Retail’ at a ceremony in London in June.

The latest win marks the travel retailer’s third ‘Distinction’ rating, building on previous successes in 2022 and 2024.
Held by the British Safety Council, the awards celebrate organisations that demonstrate excellence in managing health, safety and wellbeing at a specific site or business unit.
The honour reflects Dubai Duty Free’s commitment to high standards in health and safety management.
Dubai Duty Free Managing Director Ramesh Cidambi said, “We are delighted to receive these two awards from the British Safety Council. To be awarded the highest rating of ‘Distinction’ for the third time is a testament to our continuous effort in ensuring employee safety within the company.”

The travel retailer has consistently been honoured at the International Safety Awards since 2017, with Merit awards in 2019 and 2023.
The 2025 edition saw 874 global entries, 90% of which were awarded a Distinction, Merit or Pass, representing organisations of all sizes and sectors across the UK, the Republic of Ireland, Türkiye, the Middle East, China, India, and other markets from Europe, Africa and Asia.
