UAE. Dubai Duty Free is set to add 1,300sq m of new retail space at Dubai International in coming months, Chief Operating Officer Ramesh Cidambi told The Moodie Davitt Report. The company is also doubling its space at Al Maktoum International, which will represent the future of aviation in the emirate in the next decade.
The new space at Dubai International will come in a link corridor between concourses B and C amid a redevelopment. The concourses are used by Emirates Airline flights.

“Currently what we find is that some passengers do not access the existing stores at the apron level and these new shops will serve that need. The offer will include all of the core categories and there will be a small watches offer too.”
At Al Maktoum International, Dubai Duty Free will double space to around 5,000sq m by summer 2018. This comes as capacity soars to around 25 million passengers a year from around 5 million. The company is also boosting its Arrivals offer and adding new landside stores.
More on these projects will feature in an extensive interview with Ramesh Cidambi to appear soon.
