A range of wireless medical devices has been launched in Dubai, following a deal between distribution company Beyond Brands DMCC and Dubai Duty Free.
The iHealth products, which are subject to clinical validation protocols, include blood pressure monitors that wirelessly transmit information to the user’s iPhone or Android smartphone.
Devices such as the iHealth blood glucose monitors connect directly to an iPhone for easy to understand reporting, with analysis based on the user’s previously recorded history. Data can then be shared with a doctor by email or through the iHealth cloud servers.
Beyond Brands DMCC Director Siraj Hanifa said the deal with Dubai Duty Free would “create more awareness” about the iHealth products among airport passengers.
Geco Divisional Head (representing iHealth) Shahzad Rana said: “iHealth provides much needed solutions to simplify and maintain patient history on such ubiquitous devices as iPhones and other smartphones. We are delighted to have our products represented at Dubai airport terminals.”
The blood pressure monitors are validated against the ESH (European Society of Hypertension) protocol and the glucometers are validated against the exacting ISO15197:2013 protocol. All devices also carry the CE mark.
