ITALY. Dufry-Autogrill have opened a new food court in Terminal 1 of Rome Fiumicino Airport. It offers an exciting array of F&B offerings that include a Japanese-Brazilian fusion restaurant and an Italian sparkling wine bar.
The opening of the food court underlines Dufry’s and Autogrill’s commitment to creating memorable and surprising dining experiences and significantly expands its F&B presence in one of Italy’s most important aviation hubs.
As reported, Dufry’s business combination with Autogrill enables the joint company to address 2.3 billion passengers in more than 75 countries in 5,500 outlets across 1,200 airports, motorways, cruise lines, seaports, railway stations and other locations across all six continents.
Dufry-Autogrill has been named as a Platinum Partner of the FAB + Hospitality Conference & Awards, which takes place in Bangkok, Thailand, on 12-13 September. In addition, Dufry CEO Xavier Rossinyol and Dufry President & CEO Asia Pacific Freda Cheung were recently announced as two of the big name speakers for the conference.

The food court offers the Temakinho, Alemagna and Sophia Loren restaurants alongside the Berlucchi Franciacorta Sparkling Bar.
Temakinho is a famous Japanese-Brazilian fusion restaurant, which recently opened in Milan Linate Airport. The modern restaurant blends rich flavours, music and retail design to offer a rewarding dining experience.
The Sophia Loren restaurant is a casual dining spot which offers an authentic Neapolitan menu. The restaurant — which pays homage to the famous Italian actress Sophia Loren — offers classic Italian dishes in a glamorous setting which includes a fresh oyster bar.

Alemagna is a classic Autogrill brand that offers coffees, sandwiches and pastries. It is described as the ideal place to enjoy a classic Italian espresso. The opening of Alemagna in Rome Fiumicino follows the successful opening of the F&B concept in Milan Linate. The new café is designed following Green Store Guidelines and LEED protocols which means that it has reduced water and electricity consumption.
The Berlucchi Franciacorta Sparkling Bar is the result of a partnership with winery Guido Berlucchi and Dufry-Autogrill. Berlucchi is the winery that produced the first bottle of the famous Italian Franciacorta wine in 1961. The Sparkling Bar is a new wine format for Rome Fiumicino Airport and invites travellers to enjoy a glass of Franciacorta wine with a selection of hot and cold dishes. It boasts a signature savoury menu curated by renowned Michelin-starred Italian chef Gennaro Esposito.

Dufry Italy F&B CEO Massimiliano Santoro commented: “Following the outcome of a competitive procedure in which some of the main operators in the sector participated, our presence in Rome Fiumicino airport is further consolidated. It is one of the most important gateways to Italy, and has expanded considerably in recent years, increasingly employing technological innovations.”
Autogrill Italia General Manager Luca D’Alba added: “Aeroporti di Roma awarding us this contract bears witness to the company’s path of growth and development, which focuses on innovation and research, the enhancement of gastronomic excellence and attention to consumer tastes, continually investing in the creation of concepts that satisfy any type of need, in all travel channels.” ✈
