Duplex dining: Jones the Grocer and SSP open split-level Changi T2 outlet

SINGAPORE. Jones the Grocer, in partnership with SSP Group, has opened a split-level duplex artisan café, pizzeria, bar and restaurant at Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 2. The expansion of the brand onto level three at the terminal follows Jones the Grocer’s debut on the lower level in October last year.

Comprising over 6,600sq ft in the Departure Hall, with proximity to the MRT and access to the Jewel Changi Airport Mall, the establishment is “designed to provide travellers with a comfortable and memorable gourmet dining experience” said the partners.

A multi-layered menu: Jones the Grocer blends an artisan café, pizzeria, bar and restaurant across the duplex outlet

The upper level hosts chefs who prepare Jones the Grocer’s menus for breakfast, lunch and dinner in a theatre kitchen, enabling travellers to see their food as it’s cooked. At the island bar, which offers sweeping views of the terminal, bar staff serve handcrafted cocktails and small bites.

Customers can choose hand-thrown pizzas baked in a traditional Italian pizza oven. There is also a specially created ‘retail zone’ that features hand-picked gourmet retail options.

SSP Asia Pacific Chief Executive Officer Jonathan Robinson said; “With our partners at Changi Airport Group and Jones the Grocer International we have created something truly special here at Changi, and this foodie hub is already proving very popular with travellers in Singapore.

The world’s only event dedicated solely to the airport food & beverage and hospitality sectors makes a welcome return to the US in June. Please contact The Moodie Davitt Report Head of Events Vincci Chung at Vincci@MoodieDavittReport.com for details.

“This latest venture is the next step in our ambitious plans for our Asian business in Singapore and beyond. Asia is a region that offers considerable scope for expansion, and with our understanding of the global travelling consumer and our very strong local team, we are well placed to make the best of this opportunity.”

Jones the Grocer Chief Executive Officer Yunib Siddiqui said; “It has been an exciting journey working alongside SSP to bring Jones the Grocer alive in this iconic duplex unit at Changi Airport’s Terminal 2. Grabbing a delicious quick bite or lingering upstairs over fantastic food and drink before checking in couldn’t be any easier. This opening also marks the first of many Jones stores and I look forward to introducing our fabulous food to travelling consumers across Asia.” ✈
